IMPERIAL  PAINT  FINISHES  CONSIDERED  FINEST  IN  AUTOMOTIVE  INDUSTRY

Since the appearance of the first Imperial motor car in 1926, Imperial paint finishes have won a worldwide reputation for quality of lustre and durability.  Here are 19 typical Imperial paint operations which will enhance Imperial's reputation, for superior paint finishes.

1.  Body shell given alkalai wash to remove foreign matter, two rinses in plain water, a phosphate coating, a cold water rinse, a chromic acid rinse to neutralize body residue.

2.  All solder joints acid cleaned and rubbed with cloth ball.

3.  All solder areas sprayed with clear epoxy to prevent mapping (blotching of metal).

4.  Metal imperfections knife glazed for perfect smoothness.

5.  All interior and exterior body metal given two coats of epoxy primer.  (Primer prevents rusting, chipping and blistering.

6. Primer coats oven, baked for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.

7. Complete body water-sanded with #360 fine sand paper. (Water acts as lubricant and prevents scratching of surface.)

8.  All joints sealed with vinyl and expandable sealer. (Sealer readily adapts to temperature change and body movement.
