war, he was supervisor of production research engineering of military equipment. In 1951, he became master mechanic of the Chrysler plant in New Orleans. He became project engineer of the Jefferson plant in 1954.

          Charles R. Lautz, General Superintendent of Production, has been with Chrysler Corporation 26 years. Beginning in the Dodge Master Mechanics division, he became assistant chief die engineer and then chief tool engineer. He was assistant master mechanic during the tooling up for production of the Curtiss Hell Diver wing project at the DeSoto plant. In 1945, he became chief inspector of DeSoto car assembly, in 1947 Superintendent of DeSoto Press Plant, and in 1953 factory manager of DeSoto car assembly plant and DeSoto press plant.
