Recently, this Ghia Crown Limousine came up for sale. Here's what the seller had to say about it.
1965 Chrysler Ghia Imperial LeBaron Limousine, 10,061 actual miles, formerly the property of General Francisco Franco of Spain, one of only 10 built, beautifully restored, highly detailed engine compartment, power divider window, jump seats, original 413cid V8 engine (A413223), automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows, Auto-Pilot (cruise control), automatic beam changer, rear radio/heat/air conditioning controls, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, power antenna, dual outside rearview mirrors, Black finish with black padded landau vinyl roof, black leather upholstery on drivers seat, rear compartment upholstered in medium blue cloth, power trunk release, full wheel disks, white-wall tires, spare tire and jack. Chris Hawkins detailed the Spanish-built Imperials a few years ago. According to sources, Barreiros of Spain turned out 10 of these beauties. All were 1965 models fitted with 1966 grilles. None were brought to the US by Chrysler. And, indeed, Franco was delivered one of these. The dash and gear selectors are give-aways that this car is one of those ten. Back in the 70's, Special Interest Autos laid out a through history of the Ghia Limos. These beauties were definitely rare by any standard of that word and this vehicle makes quite an impression! If you're the new owner, please tell us more about the car and your plans for it.
